Sarah Wilkes, LVT

Sarah Wilkes developed a love of working with animals when she was a little girl on her grandparents’ Pennsylvania hobby farm. She earned her BS in Animal and Poultry Science from Virginia Tech, where she also worked in the Large Animal Teaching Hospital at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

After working at small animal practices in Maryland and New York, Sarah continued her education and earned her AS in Veterinary Technology. She discovered her passion for emergency medicine at a practice in upstate New York and she has continued in the field ever since.

Sarah currently serves as staff trainer at a busy emergency/specialty hospital in Richmond, VA. Her goal is to elevate and educate the next generation of LVTs and Assistants. She hopes that with staff engagement, education and a little bit of silliness, she can keep vet med exciting and fulfilling.

Sarah enjoys all things outdoors with her amazing husband and two children. She is a Girl Scout leader; amateur dog agility partner; gardener; crafter; and wannabe runner. In addition to her human family, she lives with Fezzik, a scruffy and agile miraculous mix of a dog; Paisley, a boopy red heeler; Twilight, an indifferent siamese cat; Luna Lovegood, a recently rescued demon kitten; and Tiny Tim, the fanciest of rats. She is in between chickens at the moment.
