This presentation will explore hypercalcemia in canines including presenting symptoms, causes, physiologic responses, diagnostics and treatment options. Cancer and hyperparathyroidism will be discussed in detail, with brief mention of toxicity, hypoadrenocorticism and acute renal failure.

Meet the Instructor

Brooke Quesnell B.S, CVT, VTS (Oncology)

Brooke is the Clinical Education Specialist for WestVet Boise. She has been a licensed technician since 2009 and a VTS in oncology since 2017. 

Brooke has a love for all things oncology with specific interests in electrochemotherapy, end-of-life care and compassionate client care. She also carries a love of ER and critical care.

Outside of her day-to-day career, Brooke lectures on a national and local level to contribute to advancing the technician profession.

She enjoys motorcycles, travelling with her partner, hiking international destinations, and spending time with her pack of house hippos Sissie, Maddy and Aeris.
