Meet the Instructor

Megan Brashear, BS, CVT, VTS (ECC)

When she isn't watching terrible reality tv (or Parks and Rec for the 14th time through), convincing herself that "it's only 2am one more chapter won't hurt" or yelling at her dog to "stop rolling in that wild animal poop" in a random cornfield, Megan Brashear loves to nerd out on all things Emergency and Critical Care.
After the naive decision to go into Emergency and Critical Care right out of tech school in 1999, Megan has never looked back. She obtained her VTS in Emergency/Critical Care in 2004 and found her love of teaching and training, hoping that after all this time, SOMEONE else also loves to nerd out over electrolytes!
After almost 20 years in Emergency/Specialty in Oregon, Megan made the move to the Midwest where she is loving academia, working as the Senior Manager of Veterinary Nursing at Purdue University. Here, she gets to combine her love of teaching and the reward of mentoring veterinary technician leaders. Her life goals are to visit the Highland Cows in the Scottish Highlands and to continue her streak of living with only the most perfect German Shorthaired Pointers.
